The printed textile used on this piece was created in the Norwegian Wood studio using illustrations from the early sketches of dutch painter Leo Gestel (c.1928) courtesy of the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Experimenting with cubism, expressionism, futurism and postimpressionism, he was among the leading artists of Dutch modernism.
