Inspired by the prairie lands where I grew up...days spent walking along flax fields...evenings spent burning chaff with my grandpa and dad to prepare the soil for next years seeding. Motifs of burning fields, golden wheat, clusters of flax buds, endless blue skies and starry nights repeat throughout the collection via prints, embellishment and, more literally, through the digitally printed and illustrated fabrics. A tight palette of field inspired neutrals creates a base for pops of flame orange, golden wheat and midnight navy. Crystal and metallic elements incorporate the subtle sheen of starry nights

I had the pleasure of collaborating with my friend/Montreal artist Jen Storey on a few pieces in this collection. After discussing the history of the burning fields/prairie life Jen created 4 original paintings which were then digitally printed on silk and used to create 2 dresses, a decorative trim used on a blouse and THIS lovely collar.
